  • Our Strategic Goals

    1. Art in Public Places

To create a community legacy that is inspiring, enduring, and accessible to all, SHAA will facilitate Art in Public Places to enrich public environments and enhance the integrity and quality of life in the Sequim-Dungeness Valley.

    2. Cultural Calendar

To increase arts participation, SHAA will maintain a Cultural Calendar online and, eventually, in print that will build audiences to ensure financial sustainability of the humanities and arts. Intrinsic benefits of the calendar will encourage artists, groups, institutions, and event planners to actively provide information for our culturally supportive community to plan their busy schedule to include arts experiences.

    3. Creative Directory

As our community grows and draws cultural activities, as well as creative people and patrons, SHAA will be a resource hub to facilitate networking between institutions, organizations, groups, individuals, businesses, and people seeking creative talent. Along with making connections, the Creative Directory will be an asset for people looking for, or listings of, venues, supplies, education, services, and advocacy.

    4. Arts Education

While supporting established artists, SHAA looks forward to the future as we aim to take a proactive role in advocating for arts education in Sequim-Dungeness Valley. Research has shown that the arts have an impact on cognitive learning skills, as the arts encourages discovery, expression, self-motivation, and academic excellence.
